Art Roc Single Roll 3m
Art Roc Single roll 8cm x 3m
ART ROC IS A PLASTER AND RESIN IMPREGNATED BANDAGE THAT CAN BE USED TO QUICKLY AND EASILY CREATE LARGE STRUCTURES THAT ARE LIGHT BUT STRONG. IT IS ALSO AN EXCELLENT MATERIAL FOR MASKS, MOULDS AND PUPPETS AND CAN BE DRAPED OVER A SHAPED ARMATURE TO CREATE GEOGRAPHICAL LANDSCAPES, SCENERY FOR PLAYS OR LIFE SIZED SCULPTURES. Protect surfaces and clothes. Residual plaster will wash off with soap and water but for sensitive skin wear protective gloves. Prepare all the materials including a container for cold water; a 2 litre ice-cream container is perfect. Art Roc sets quickly so don’t handle it with wet fingers until you are ready to apply it to the model. Create a former from wire, screwed up newspaper, cardboard, balloon etc. If you wish to recover the former cover it with foil, cling film or Vaseline before applying Art Roc. Allowing for at least 3 layers, use scissors to cut a quantity of various sizes and shapes sufficient to complete the model. Store these pieces in a dry area. Dip a piece of Art Roc into the cold water. Make sure the entire strip is wet but shake off any surplus water. Immediately apply the Art Roc strip. Smooth out any air pockets while carefully moulding and pressing it into shape on the former. Work quickly as Art Roc begins to set after about 3 minutes. At this stage handle models carefully or they may crack. Some features may need extra support while drying. Slightly overlap the pieces. 3 or 4 layers will give reasonable strength but 5 or 6 layers will be stronger. Overlapping layers and laying them in different directions will increase the strength.
